Our school is located in a small town in the west area of Sweden, about 130 km from Sweden’s second largest city Gothenburg. The town lies on the south coast of Vänern, Sweden’s biggest lake, and it is surrounded by farm land, but also very beautiful nature and interesting historical sites – Carl von Linné made excursions in the area and some of Sweden’s oldest churches are located nearby.

The school is one of four secondary schools in Lidköping, and the pupils come from various economic, cultural and social status – some live in the countryside or small villages up to 20 km from town, and some live in different parts of the town, both richer and poorer neighboorhoods. About 15 % of the pupils have a background in a foreign country.

We would like to be a part of this international science project because it´s a chance for the all the pupils, independently of background, to be part of something extraordinary, to make international contacs and learn more about the topics in the project as well as get better at communication in English.
